01 / SCOPE

Write down what we will—and will not—test.

A public-page check cannot prove live match quality, moderation response, billing behavior, or the identity of participants. Those remain unverified until tested directly.

02 / DEVICE

Record date, viewport, and browser context.

Layouts and permission behavior can differ by browser and device. Each evidence note includes enough context to understand the observation.

03 / CLAIMS

Separate visible copy from verified behavior.

“No sign-up,” “instant,” “secure,” and numerical popularity claims are marketing statements until the relevant flow or source is checked.

04 / UPDATE

Retest conclusions that can expire.

Competitor features and public wording change. Review and VS pages show a check date and avoid presenting old observations as permanent facts.

05 / CORRECTION

Correct the conclusion, not just the date.

KnotCam Editorial updates the affected observation when a public route, permission sequence, account boundary, price, or safety control changes. A review date is changed only when the relevant evidence has been checked again.

EVIDENCE RECORD

WHAT A READER SHOULD BE ABLE TO AUDIT.

A useful note does more than say that a site was tested. It records enough context for another person to understand the route, reproduce the public observation, and see where the conclusion stops.

PAGE + DATE: Exact public URL, local check date, and whether the page changed during review.
DEVICE CONTEXT: Desktop or mobile, browser family, viewport, and whether an account session existed.
ACTION TAKEN: What was clicked, whether a permission prompt appeared, and where the test intentionally stopped.
CLAIM STATUS: Observed copy, verified behavior, unverified claim, or area not tested.
RETEST TRIGGER: A changed call to action, pricing page, account wall, permission route, or safety control starts a new check.
