GOOD TO KNOW

Only grant camera access when you intend to use video. Check the preview and background before entering a live match.

WHEN IT APPEARS

KnotCam asks after you choose video

The landing page does not request camera access. Enter matching, choose video, and then review the browser request for camera and microphone permission.

IF YOU DENIED IT

Use the browser site controls to change the decision

Open the site information or permission icon near the address bar, allow the camera for KnotCam, and reload the matching page. Browser labels differ, so use the official help for your browser if the control is not visible.

IF IT STILL FAILS

Check the device outside the browser

Close other camera apps, select the intended camera, review operating-system privacy settings, and reconnect an external camera. A device used by another application may not be available to the browser.

OFFICIAL HELP

CHECK THE BROWSER'S OWN INSTRUCTIONS.

Permission labels and menus can change. These links are maintained by the browser or web-platform publisher rather than KnotCam.

QUICK ANSWERS

What people usually ask.

Why does text work when video does not?

Text needs no hardware permission. Video depends on both camera and microphone access plus a working device.

Should I allow camera access all the time?

You can use a one-time permission when the browser offers it. Review and remove saved permissions later if you no longer want the site to access the device.
